We are immensely grateful for your support in building our outdoor classroom. Our students love the tables and umbrellas and are thankful for the opportunity to explore their surroundings, enjoy outdoor classroom time, and soak up the sun on nice days. It is incredible to see the smiles on our students’ faces as they embrace nature and have a true outdoor space to learn and grow.
The Service Club’s generous 2020 donation of a Toyota Sienna minivan has helped ChicagoCAC safely transport families to the center during the pandemic. It also helped make the holidays brighter for our children and families! We loaded up the van and delivered donated gifts and food baskets to families during our Holiday Toy and Food Drives. One caregiver called the transportation department to express gratitude for the gifts and food provided to their family. Thank you, Service Club, for making this possible!

Chicago. Cradles to Crayons works to End Clothing Insecurity by providing children experiencing poverty across Chicagoland with clothing and other essentials – completely free of charge. C2C collects new and gently used clothing from community members across the region, which is then distributed through a network of nonprofits serving children and families in low-income situations. These new mailbox-style collection units (pictured), purchased thanks to funding from The Service Club of Chicago, are part of a successful effort to increase the volume of donations to help C2C meet the growing needs of our community members.

In 2023, Gateway to Learning was gifted with a grant from The Service Club of
Chicago. At first glance, you might see that The Service Club of Chicago purchased a minivan for our organization, but in reality, The Service Club provided so much more. They gave us the gift of access to the wonderful city of Chicago for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities that we serve at Gateway to Learning. Individuals are now venturing out of our facility and INTO the community doing so many things! Individuals are volunteering at ReStore by Habitat for Humanity. People love going to the Neighborhood Boys & Girls Club for regular physical activity. We’ve taken groups to explore job opportunities. We’ve had groups go out to the Auto Show. And the list of activities and opportunities grows each day. The grant from The Service Club has opened the world to the people we support and will positively impact those lives for years to come. THANK YOU, from the bottom of our hearts, to The Service Club of Chicago.
